The Selk Bag
Just came across this amazing piece of clothing/gear/awesomeness. It’s the all new Lippi Selk Bag, produced and sold by a British company whose sole purpose is to produce and sell these things. It’s supposed to be a mobile alternative to a sleeping bag, but my mind reels at the thought of more innovative uses. One of my friends proposed using it as a cold weather drinking accessory, where you could hang out and then be perfectly comfortable wherever you pass out. My concerns there would lie in the realm of overheating in crowded bars and thermal effectiveness when soaked in urine. But that’s just me. I also can’t help to think of it as one giant, mobile Dutch oven. Maybe that’s what the vents near the knees are for.

Okay – so this was enough to completely turn around an otherwise shitty day. The NikeID website – of which both I and my intoxicated alter-ego “Night Drew” are huge fans – has enhanced some of their offerings. Specifically, you may now design and purchase custom shoes with a pirate on them. Talk about meeting an unmet need in the market. God bless capitalism.
